Eco and Cultural Tourism on natural park – Bragança

Let´s make the difference on a low populated region, at the core of a natural park in the north of Portugal. We will invest on the rebuilding of old houses, keeping the tradition and respecting the local way of life – which is the valuable asset on this project, together with surrounding nature.
The value chain is very simple. We will create a sustainable business that will provide jobs for local population by hiring skilled local labor for reconstruction, maintenance and service, customers for the surrounding restaurants and shops creating value for the region and – therefore – on the business itself.
In the process, we will provide a great experience for customers as the region itself has great potencial for fishing, hiking, bicycling and fauna an flora observation. Also, local traditions and proximity to Spain are factors of attractiveness. In this area, the Celtic influence is vibrant and strong as the use of pan bagpipes is traditional, together with some local food.
This project is supported by very strong top international experience in tourism operations as well as in international management knowledge, accounting and financial control. A SWOT analysis provided me the conclusion that this is the right time and place to invest as real state on these villages is very low at this time. We would be pioneers and would have a disruptive way of working as most of the tourist operators in the region lack the experience and knowledge we will provide. The target would be foreign customers, namely nature enthusiasts, eco and cultural tourists. Bureaucracy in Portugal is a weakness in this analysis and in this sense, we intend not to ask for any governmental aid due to the time and resources needed that will be necessary in other fields.
